Rooms were clean although bedspread have a few discolored spots. Location was sketchy and not that great for walking around...as we were leaving a couple was cleaning up as their car window had been smashed overnight in the hotel parking lot. breakfast had the usual fare one would expect. Not sure why hotels bother serving gross reconstituted eggs, just don't bother. Service was friendly and efficient. Love the microtel brand and have had great experiences until this one. I would not return to this location.

The front desk gentleman had made sure to tell us great restaurants and hotels in the Penticton area, even though we only asked where the best pizza joint is. He couldn't quite grasp the concept of pizza.
Only put 4/5 stars because my sister bought 3 bottles of water for $9 then my husband went down and bought 2 for $5.
Overall a great experience

My family and I stayed here for one night and immediately had a number of issues. Woman at the desk was nice checking in and everything, we got to our room and the floor, bathroom and toilet was covered in hair. Later on ants came out of nowhere on the bathroom floor as well. The beds had stains on them and hair as well. We called down to the front desk and had no response so we left a message that was never answered. Eventually we went down and unfortunately the woman at the front desk had to clean up the hair as there was nobody present to clean and apparently no other rooms available. We tried to contact the manager about the issues but they refused to speak to us? Manager told the front desk that we’d only get a full refund if we left the night of check in, at this point it was 9:30pm. Contacted Expedia and got told they’d refund us $40 but would still have to leave to get the full refund. Awful stay and would highly not recommend.

Our room was dirty upon check in. There were at least 30 long dark hairs all over the bathroom floor. One of the comforters on the bed was stained. Housekeeping was not working so the front desk girl came and swept up the hair and gave us a new comforter. When we changed the comforter the sheet underneath was also stained. Upon further inspection the shower/bath was also dirty with hair and other residue. The front desk told us we could have a refund if we checked out of the hotel right then. At this point it was almost 10pm on a Saturday and we did not have anywhere to go. I asked to speak with the manager but was told he would not call me. When I asked when he would be working next I was told “I don’t know”.

Customer service was horrible. Expedia called them weeks ago about my reservation but they didn't leave notes in their system. They called me at 12:30am (who does that?) to ask if I was still checking in. I called them back a 6:20am their time to say yes (by voicemail as no one answered the phone). Then when I get to the hotel they say they cancelled my reservation and gave my room away. They didn't even bother returning my phone message.
At the front desk it was very evident the staff could care less about negatively impacting a customer. I felt like I was talking to a robot. She even tried to tell me I didn't call. I don't like being called a liar so I pulled up the call history on my phone to prove it, I shouldn't need to do that, she should be trying to help me not argue with me.
Not the start I was hoping to have for my vacation.
