    Myself and 5 other family members booked a stay at Golden Sands Resort last weekend. Our rooms were on the ground floor close to the office. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the whole patio area was exclusive use for our two rooms. Shortly before our stay we found out that we had no one to look after our senior dog. The Staff at Golden Sands was more than accommodating and were able to help us out. The rooms were complete with great working AC which kept it comfortable for us and our dog. The staff were very friendly, and having pool access was a great feature. The rooms could benefit from a little upgrade, but after a two year pandemic, its understandable. The location made up for it! You can't beat being directly across from the water, and a 10 minute walk from the start of the canal. It is also walking distance to tons of restaurants and street vendors. We would absolutely look at booking there again.

    Would give zero stars. Got in at 7pm and our room was filthy. Gravel and sand on the sink and toilet tank, sand, dirt, and clumps of hair all over the floor. We asked the office if the cleaning crew could do another sweep of the room while we went down to the beach, only to be told the cleaning staff went home at 6pm. We asked for management and learned they were also gone and unreachable. Front desk told us if we wanted a clean room, we'd have to CLEAN IT OURSELVES. We said fine because it was filthy and we were just given a bottle of multipurpose cleaner. I found a broom and mop, and after sweeping, mopping, and damp dusting the room, it was somewhat livable. Never in my life have I had to clean my own hotel room. The next morning there was no management again (surprise surprise) and we asked if we could get a reduced rate for having to clean our own room. We were denied and told that our room was checked and clean before we arrived. How can a room with crunchy gravel covering the floor be considered clean? AVOID THIS PLACE. Total dump. Never staying here again. Management is absent and front desk is no help.

    Disappointing to say the least. Been coming here since I was kid. The room was nice and spacious, so good on that part; however, it was SO dirty. Caked on dirt on all baseboards, walls, ceilings, etc. The shower towels looked like they weren't washed (there was crusty stuff on them).. The fridge was very loud and was dripping water from the inside so our groceries got all wet. Our room had no blinds in the front window, aka no privacy. My sister was sleeping in the living room on the pullout sofa (which was so disgusting) and we had to make something with one of our two blankets to cover the window. When we told the front desk about it, they told us they couldn't get anybody there to put them up until the day we leave. Not helpful or understanding at all about how uncomfortable it is to have your front window fully open to everyone else in the motel walking by your room 24/7. Seems the rooms (at least the one I was in) are not well maintained at all and it seems the staff don't care about it or the satisfaction and comfortability of the guests.

    I wish there was a zero star rating...so disappointed, been going to golden sands for the last ten years, and this year I'm afraid will be the last. It has slowly been deteriorating over the years, last 2 years COVID was the excuse. Rooms were not clean AT ALL- dead insects, broken blinds, stained blanket, dirty bathroom , dirty floors, caked dirt in certain areas, lumpy beds and couch etc...2 towels in a room booked for 4. Complained to front desk, emailed management...no response... front desk gives the excuse of new management, renovation being carried out, shortage of staff...so why charge me $300 for a room that is not up to standard at all??? Why not limit bookings to what you can cope with??? So so disappointed!!!! Never again , so sad its come to this but if no changes are made there will be many people turning away from this motel.... take it from me there's more out there, better quality, better service, reasonable pricing!

    We are there 1 July 2022 , Staff are never here; rooms are dated, density ,can't get toilet paper or towels as no one is here. There's a kitchen with out dish soap to wash the dishes. TV remote isn't working, no blow dryer provided. My main window blinds were broken and had to put garbage bags up for privacy. Please please nobody go over there . Why we are going there because Lindweekend for first of July.
