I could not be happier with our new addition. We got Derek to add a room to the side of our house and it fits seamlessly. We had all the windows and doors replaced for the whole house at the same time and a new entrance cement walk way done. Also had the stucco repaired and the whole house painted. Now we are set and the house looks beautiful. Derek made the whole things so easy and helped with lots of great suggestions. The whole thing cost less than I expected which seems unheard of these days. I can't say enough positive about both Ken and Derek and their craftsman work and professionalism. Thank you so much.

We recently had a garage and upper floor unit added to our property. I am retired and under a fairly strict budget, but was determined to finally get the garage I had been waiting forty years for. I met with 3 other contractors and 'frankly' was insulted in their "this is my price - take it or leave it" attitude. I called Derek on a whim, as I saw the advertising on his trailer and decided to give it another shot. Derek met with us several times, sat and worked with our ideas / budget / constraints from the district and such. I found him very professional, honest, direct - and to the point. We decided to go with Big Valley Homes and I am very happy with the outcome. His crew were polite, cleaned up after themselves, and were very professional in their work. As always, things come up during construction and Derek met with me whenever needed to work through any new hurdles, keep the project on plan and budget and met with any inspectors, Geotech, and Engineers as was required. The project could not have gone smoother, it stayed on budget and left me with the garage I have been waiting for. Highly recommend you add him to your list when planning a build. Brent Clark

I cannot say enough good things about Derek and his sub contractors. He is very personable and stands by his work. We were in Alberta during our full house renovation and he kept us informed throughout the whole process. The renovations was completed with the timeframe and budget that was discussed before the work began. During the renovation I had requested some changes and Derek was happy to accommodate us, in fact, he even suggested some cheaper options for us. We were so happy with his work that we have since hired him to extend our deck by 300 sq ft. Again the work performed was exactly what we wanted and within the timeframe and budget. Should we purchase another home needing renovations or decide to build in the future, we would not hesitate to hire Derek to complete the job.

We had a covered deck added to our house as well as an addition underneath the deck. We couldn't be happier with the work Derek did!! The whole addition matches the rest of the house perfectly. He was upfront and honest about things and got the work done within the time frame he gave. Derek was professional to deal with and we cant recommend him enough! If we ever do more renovations to our house, Big Valley will be our first call!
